Since 2005 Northern-California based Modwalls has offered affordable Midcentury-inspired tile in ceramics and glass for commercial and residential applications. Over the years they have teamed up with notable designers such as Rex Ray, Clayhaus Ceramics and Henry Road. But their newest designs might come from an unlikely source.
The Modwall’s Brio® collection of glass tile offers a colorful variety of 3/4″ (19mm) glass tile in various textures. A slew of options are available in solids, gradients and blends for immediate delivery. But if you really want something unique you can create a mosaic pattern from your very own recipe!
The Brio Blender allows you to choose the colors you want and tweak the mixture. Then a random digital mixing of those color choices produces an instant on-screen sample of one square foot of your creation. Click the Remix button to see another sample of the way your mosaic design will look.

If you like what you see you can order a sample. It’s a 25 tile (5×5) sampling of your design. If you really like it you can order up the real thing (there’s a minimum order of 20 sq. ft.) that comes boxed in square foot sheets with a paper carrier protecting the tiles. And the best part is it’s affordable. Like around $12 a square foot for a mosaic made of solid colors.
