Clever Camera Curio

Ever broken a camera?

Kinda’ sucks. But if you’re clever you could recycle that broken lens and create some spiffy jewelry. That’s what Australian photographer, Craig Arnold, did.

Bracelets made from camera lens parts!

Smart Outlet

Here’s a clever idea that we think should become a new standard for residential wiring.

The USB Wall Plug adds two handy computer plugs to the standard 110 volt wall receptacle. Now you can charge any phone, MP3 player, tablet, laptop or electrical device that uses the common USB connector. Spiffy!

Replaces the standard household wall outlet. And get this- it’s made in the U.S.A. When’s the last time you heard that referring to anything electronic?

The Ferrari of Cameras

Scuderia Camera Oscura
Just in case a Hasselblad camera in itself isn’t quite exclusive enough.

At just south of $30k the H4D-40 offers 40 megapixel resolution, a red body and exclusive certificate of authenticity. Less than 500 will be offered so don’t wait around hoping for a closeout!

Hasselblad H4D-40 Ferrari Edition

Hasselblad H4D-40 Medium Format DSLR Camera Kit with 80mm f/2.8 HC LensSeem a little crazy?

If you prefer something a little more down-to-earth consider the standard H4D. Like the Ferrari Edition it’s also a medium format DSLR, includes an 80mm f/2.8 HC lens, Phocus 2.0 Software and costs a mere $20k.

The Giant Paper Airplane

On March 21, 2012 a paper airplane measuring 45 feet long was flown high above the Arizona desert (video below). The flight- and crash landing- is believed to be the largest paper airplane ever flown.

The Great Paper Airplane Project was sponsored by the Pima Air & Space Museum, one of the largest aviation museums in the world.

The design of Arturo Valdenegro’s was chosen from hundreds of entries. According to the website…

Arturo won the Great Paper Airplane Fly-Off on January 14, 2012, and since then, he’s been involved in the build and design of the giant plane, even consulting with Art Thompson. At 12 years old, Arturo has always been into creating things with paper. He’s an avid origami and paper figurine builder, and he learned to fold paper airplanes from videos on YouTube. Arturo says he wants to be a mechanical engineer when he grows up. We have a feeling that’ll work out for him.

The following video shows the flight…
